DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
CENTRE FOR SUSTAINABLE FINANCE
Alhamdulillah, with the permission of Allah SWT, the report and initiatives of the Centre for Sustainable Finance (CSF) have been successfully realised as a platform to share information with the entire university community, donors, strategic partners, and stakeholders.
First and foremost, I would like to express my highest appreciation and sincere gratitude to the University’s Top Management, Centre Committee Members, industry and corporate strategic partners, religious agencies, academics, administrators, and all contributors—whether individuals or organisations—for their continuous support, trust, and commitment to the Centre for Sustainable Finance. This support is instrumental in ensuring that entrusted funds are managed with transparency, integrity, and high impact.
The Centre for Sustainable Finance was established as a strategic entity of the university, focusing on strengthening sustainable financial resources through two main thrusts: Funding and Income Generation.
The Funding Division concentrates on the development and management of Islamic social finance and philanthropic instruments such as waqf (endowment), zakat, endowment funds, and donations or gifts. This approach not only strengthens the university’s financial position but also serves as a mechanism to channel benefits to students—particularly those from the B40 group—as well as to high-impact research and academic facility development.
Meanwhile, the Income Generation Division focuses on revenue-generating activities through the optimisation of university spaces and facilities, the development of professional academic programmes, research commercialisation, and strategic innovation initiatives. The synergy between these two divisions forms a sustainable, dynamic, and resilient financial ecosystem in addressing the evolving challenges of higher education.
In line with the university’s aspirations and national higher education policies that emphasise financial autonomy and diversified income sources, the Centre for Sustainable Finance remains committed to introducing new initiatives, strengthening governance practices, and expanding collaborative networks with industry, financial institutions, foundations, and the wider community. Our primary objective is to ensure sustainable and impactful funding to support academic excellence, research advancement, and student welfare.
In closing, I extend my appreciation to all staff of the Centre for Sustainable Finance for their dedication, professionalism, and strong commitment in carrying out their entrusted responsibilities. It is my hope that we will continue to strengthen good governance practices, enhance operational efficiency, and broaden the impact of our contributions to the university and society.
May all our efforts be blessed and continue to serve as a lasting charitable contribution.
